Smash that reset button
You don't have to travel all the way to India to reap the benefits of a reset.
Thinking a lot about data storytelling, hiring, and early-stage infrastructure? We are too. Grab some time here and let’s chat.
I took time off this week to visit family in India. However, as I boarded my 14-hour flight across the globe, I couldn’t help but feel immense “vacation guilt.” For a founder, the timing of vacation is never right and, obviously, you can’t really build a new communication medium without, you know, working.
I’m sure most founders have felt this guilt before. However, after a full week off, I can say with confidence that I cannot wait to dive back into building Rhetoric on Monday.
Seriously. I’m excited. This week has been a powerful reminder that taking time off and allowing ourselves to prioritize our hobbies, curiosities, and passions (and see family!) gives us a better perspective and more clarity when we step back into our work.
You can think about it as the same phenomenon that happens when we’re dealing with writer’s block and step away for a reset. Inevitably, we’re struck with the next right thing to say while chopping up dinner ingredients or navigating the New Delhi metro.
Happy weekend,
Raman at Rhetoric
